Nutrition Club

The Nutrition Club is a cooperative effort by area schools, local churches, civic clubs & the ministry of  Shared Blessings to end weekend hunger in the lives of children.

 

22% of children in Oklahoma live below poverty guidelines.  Many children are sustained by the free breakfast and lunch served at school but struggle on weekends.

 

Schools identify the economically disadvantaged students needing assistance. Volunteers then gather at Shared Blessings and put together bags of food that children can easily access without the help of adults.  Food bags are then transported to area schools and are discreetly given to each child on Friday afternoon.

 

It only costs $200 to sponsor a child every weekend for a year.  Together we can end weekend hunger in the lives of children.
