Shared Blessings is led by a local board of directors who meet regularly to oversee all facets of the ministry.  These directors represent multiple churches and supervise both the direction of the ministry and its financial integrity.

How is Shared Blessings supported?

Shared Blessings is funded through the generous support of individuals, businesses, civic clubs and churches.  We receive no federal or united way funding.  All contributions are tax deductible and donors receive ministry updates along with an end-of-year tax donation letter.

Is Shared Blessings a church?

No.  Shared Blessings’ only sees itself as an extension of the church.  We, in no way strive to fulfill all the roles of a church, but simply desire to help believers and the church as a whole, benevolently reach out to those in need.

How many churches are involved with Shared Blessings?

Presently, approximately 25 churches partner with the ministry on different levels.

How can a person get involved at Shared Blessings?

There are many ways to help Shared Blessings.  Donations of good, used clothing as well as furniture and household goods are always appreciated.  Financial partners of the ministry typically commit to support the ministry on a monthly or annual basis although one-time gifts are greatly appreciated.  Volunteers are needed to help sort and hang clothing, work in the warehouse or other facets of the ministry.

Do you sell items that are donated to the ministry?

No.  Only a $2 donation is requested from those shopping on a monthly basis but individual items are not sold for profit.

Is Caring Hands Healthcare Center a ministry of Shared Blessings?

No.  Caring Hands is a federally funded health care clinic that serves the general public.  It is not a “free clinic” but charges on sliding scale based upon family size and income.  We are not directly affiliated with Caring Hands but see its services as beneficial to many of those who come to Shared Blessings for help.

Who can receive clothing at Shared Blessings?

Anyone. There are no financial qualifications to receive clothing. We only ask that you truly need the ministry.
